Regulatory Compliance

Tower installation and instrumentation placement were performed in accordance with IEC 61400-12-1 Ed.2 Annex G and MEASNET recommendations. The anemometers assembled were calibrated and installed following these regulations.

Certifications

All installed instruments have calibration certificates accredited by DKD (German Calibration Service), the entity responsible for correct measurement in accordance with binding international standards and which is part of the DAkkS, the official German accreditation body.

Description of the work undertaken

Telener 360 was contracted for the supply, installation and commissioning of two 120m TZ-60 weather towers in the Magallanes region, Chile. The project became operational in March 2023.

Both masts were installed according to the characteristics of the site, where it was necessary to use satellite internet for constant communication, as well as the heating of the equipment due to the extreme conditions present in winter in the region.

Similarly, for the optimal utilization of the site, an analysis was carried out to determine the dimensioning of the power system; where the use of a hybrid system was defined for powering the equipment. This is based on a 2000w mini wind turbine, 8 panels of 450w and 8 batteries of 200Ah.

Various sensors were installed at different heights, including ultrasonic anemometers and geovanes, along with cup anemometers and wind vanes, enabling a high-precision measurement campaign.

At the end of the instrumentation of the tower, communication tests were carried out with the satellite system, corroborating the reliability and stability of the signal during the connection schedules previously established in the configuration of the data logger.
